Paso Robles Door & Trim is proud to carry Bolga Baskets. These popular imported handicrafts are a favorite around the world. There are baskets made throughout Africa, but none compare to the quality, caftsmanshop, and popularity of these baskets from the village region of Bolgatanga in Northern Ghana. For decades Ghanaian Kinkanhe Straw has been transformed into brillian works of art by skilled aretisans whose intricate weaving techniques have made "Bolga Baskets" a household name.

Our Bolga Baskets are all completely hand-woven and come in styles and patterns to fit a variety of needs and decors. We use them in the garden, at the farmer's market, to store books, knitting projects, and for weekend getaways.
The Bolga Basket makers are farmers by trade and basket weavers by tradition. The basket weaving is an important supplement to their income due to the fluctuating environmental conditions in the regions which are not always a guarantee to the success of their farms.

The baskets are imported under fair trade principles that foster environhmentally conscious, community sustaining and economically advantaged conditions for employees and partners. Families of many generations particpate in the communal effort of basket weaving. Buying Bolga Baskets helps a family in Ghana build a better tomorrow!
